Southern University alumni hosts festival, raises money for student scholarships

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Southern University Alumni Federation is hosting its 9th annual crawfish boil and music festival in May.

The “Buggin’ on the Bluff” festival will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 at Mayberry’s Dining Hall lawn on Southern’s campus. Grab your lawn chairs and enjoy the company of hundreds of alumni, supporters and friends.

Zydeco musician Chris Ardoin will perform with the Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band.

Tickets are available here and proceeds will be dedicated to student scholarships.

“It’s a fun time for the whole family,” said Home Chapter President Brian Adams. “A great time to get together to support our university and enjoy some good food and good music! The net proceeds will be dedicated to scholarships for deserving students.”
