A staffing and recruiting company has purchased a Perkins Road office building for $2 million and plans to move its headquarters there.

GLO Resources bought the building at 6120 Perkins Road in a deal that was filed Monday with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s Office. The seller was DMDA of Baton Rouge LLC, a limited liability company set up by Lafayette businessman Donald Dupuis. DMDA bought the building in February 2016 for $1.65 million.

GLO, which helps find employees for a range of industries, including construction, manufacturing and oil and gas, plans to move into the building by mid-summer, said Gray Hammett of Hammett Group Real Estate. The company currently is leasing an office at 509 St. Louis St.

“The main thing is they wanted to own their own property,” said Hammett, who represented GLO in the deal along with Brandi Chambless, also of Hammett Group. Steve Legendre of Stirling represented the sellers.

The Perkins Road office building is about 13,600-square-feet, roughly twice the size of GLO’s current office. The company plans on taking up most of the building, Hammett said. “They wanted a space to accommodate existing growth as well as future growth,” he said.

GLO has offices in New Orleans, Houston and Orlando. The company has 28 employees in Baton Rouge and nearly 775 total workers.
