Suspect arrested in fatal shooting on Alliquippa Street

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting that happened on March 5th.

According to BRPD, Rashawn Alexander, 20, is accused in the shooting death of 35-year-old Nicholas Williams. Williams was found shot to death in the 4000 block of Alliquippa Street.

Alexander was taken into custody by the Baton Rouge Special Response Team and East Baton Rouge Sheriff SWAT Team on South Harrells Ferry Road.

Alexander is being charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies, distribution/possession of marijuana, and illegal use of a weapon.
