Teenager charged after allegedly shooting father in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A son is accused of shooting his father in Baton Rouge. A 12-year-old is charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon after a shooting left a man with injuries on Monday, March 6.

The shooting took place a little before 3:25 p.m. at the Warwick Apartments located at 8001 Jefferson Hwy. An argument led to the shooting, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department. The shooting victim is expected to survive and was taken to a local hospital.

BRPD said the teenager was booked into the East Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention Center.
