Walker man accused in deadly shooting formally charged

WALKER, La. (BRPROUD) — A grand jury indicted a Walker man on second-degree murder in connection to an October 2022 deadly shooting on Tuesday, according to the district attorney’s office.

Landem Harper, 24, is accused of shooting and killing Marrece Felder, 27, on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, on Travis Street. Felder was reportedly shot three times before he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Walker Police Department said investigators believed that the shooting happened after a fight between Harper and Felder. Harper was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

The 21st Judicial District Attorney’s office said Harper is out of jail on a $103,000 bond.
