History was made Sunday afternoon in Iowa City, Iowa, Sunday.

Caitlin Clark broke Pete Maravich’s NCAA college basketball career scoring record, a record that has stood for 54 years.

She broke it with 0.3 seconds left in the first half against Ohio State. She entered the game needing 18 points to break the record and it didn’t take long for her to reach that mark.

Clark broke the women’s college basketball career scoring record on Feb. 15 when she scored 49 points in a game versus Michigan. That broke Kelsey Plum’s record which had stood since 2017.

Maravich finished his career with 3,667 points in three seasons of varsity play. Clark has at least two more games to add to her total with the Big Ten and NCAA Tournaments upcoming. Iowa is a No. 2 seed in ESPN’s latest Bracketology, and made it to the National Championship game last season where it lost to LSU.
