LSU women’s basketball team, Angel Reese get ESPY nominations

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The LSU women’s basketball team and Angel Reese were nominated for ESPY awards on Wednesday.

The LSU Lady Tigers are nominated for best team and Angel Reese, who broke several records, is up for best breakthrough athlete award, according to LSU Athletics.

This year, the basketball team won the NCAA Championship game, scoring a record 102 points in its matchup against Iowa. The game also broke records, bringing in 9.9 million viewers.

In November, the team will play against Colorado in its season opener in Las Vegas.

The awards ceremony is set to air live on ABC at 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday, July 12. Fans can vote online on ESPN’s website. Click here to submit a vote.
