BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Since LSU’s Tiger Stadium opened its doors in 1924, it’s housed thousands of devoted fans.

“On football gamedays, Tiger Stadium becomes the fifth largest city in the state of Louisiana as over 100,000 fans pack the cathedral of college football to watch the Tigers play,” LSU said.

Thanks to social media, the iconic stadium’s legendary status is no longer limited to Louisiana. The venue is well-appreciated across the country as one of the most Instagrammable stadiums in North America.

The new status comes from a study helmed by a sports betting company called Online Betting Guide, or OLBG.

The company said it came up with the list by analyzing Instagram and finding out which stadiums amassed the most hashtags. After that, researchers combed through each stadium’s reviews on TripAdvisor to find out how many contained words like “beautiful,” “stunning,” and “aesthetic.”

OLBG found that Death Valley had 38,009 hashtags and ranked in ninth place as one of the continent’s most Instagrammable sports stadiums.

The Tigers’ next game on their home turf is scheduled for Sept. 9 during the home opener against Grambling State University.
