PLAQUEMINE, La. (BRPROUD)– The annual St. Jude Car show took place this month and proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“We’ve raised $825,000 for St Jude and we hope to reach that million-dollar mark real soon,” Micheal Segura II, St. Jude Car Show Chairman said.
Hundreds attended this year’s event.
“We just want to raise more money for St Jude and have a good time,” Segura said.
One car lover, Davis Rayborn Junior, brought his friends out for a drive in hopes of raising money to “advance cures” for those at St. Jude. Rayborn is also the President of the Baton Rouge Corvette Club.
“It’s really exciting because the people that we meet that has been to St. Jude. They tell us all the wonderful things that St. Jude is doing for those children,” Rayborn said.
With continuous improvement in St. Jude’s cancer survival rates, Segura says the organizers plan to continue their efforts.
“We need every nickel we can get for St. Jude,” Rayborn said
