LSU won its second national championship since it began play at the new Alex Box Stadium this past summer when the Tigers took down Florida in Game 3 of the College World Series final.
LSU has also hosted eight NCAA Super Regional Series and nine NCAA Regional Tournaments at Alex Box Stadium.
LSU opened its 16th season at Alex Box Stadium with a 11-8 win over VMI last Friday. The Tigers went 4-0 during their opening series, defeating VMI and Central Arkansas twice.
After winning the series opener, LSU defeated Central Arkansas 2-0 on Saturday before crushing VMI in a rematch on Sunday, 27-5. The Tigers finished the series with a 4-3 victory over Central Arkansas on Monday.
In its second series of the year at Alex Box Stadium, the Tigers will face Northern Illinois and Stony Brook two times apiece in a four game series starting on Thursday and ending on Sunday.
