Jalen Cook is suspended from the LSU men’s basketball team for “a failure to meet the standards that have been placed for the program,” according to head coach Matt McMahon.
Cook has missed the last five games, initially out due to a leg injury, according to McMahon, but he didn’t travel with the team to Vanderbilt.
The injury first limited him against Tennessee on Feb. 7 where Cook didn’t play. He played the next two games before missing the next five after that.
McMahon didn’t provide a timetable on Cook’s possible return, adding that they will “evaluate it day-to-day moving forward.”
Cook missed the first 10 games of the season after being ruled ineligible by the NCAA due to being a two-time transfer. After being ruled eligible in December, Cook played in 13 games where he averaged 15.6 points per game.
