A foot injury sidelined freshman Mikaylah Williams for the LSU women’s basketball team’s 77-56 win over Kentucky Sunday afternoon.Â
But the No. 9 Tigers do not expect it to prevent her from suiting up in the Southeastern Conference Tournament. Coach Kim Mulkey said she held Williams out as a precaution.Â
“I could have played her today,” Mulkey said. “She played in the Georgia game. Mikaylah and Hailey (Van Lith) both have been in and out of the boot all year because they deal with plantar fasciitis, and their feet just hurt. After the Georgia game, she just said it was just kind of tender, so I shut her down.”
